DOST holds science orientation for Cotabato police

KIDAPAWAN CITY – The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) conducted an orientation on regional science and technology programs for the Cotabato Police Provincial Office.
Provincial Director Col. Ramil Hojilla led the uniformed and non-uniformed personnel during the session conducted by the DOST-Cotabato provincial office.
The activity introduced technology-based opportunities in livelihood development, entrepreneurship, and productivity enhancement.
The DOST team presented an overview of the agency’s mandate to promote innovation as a tool for community development.
The presentation highlighted the Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program, which provides innovation support to small businesses.
Officials also discussed the Community Empowerment thru Science & Technology program, which delivers science-based solutions to underserved communities.
Other initiatives presented included scholarship opportunities, technology transfer programs, and the STARBOOKS digital library system.
The orientation aims to strengthen the partnership between the DOST and the police in promoting community development in the province. (PSTO-Cotabato)
