Maguindanao del Norte receives P11M in new school buildings from BARMM gov’t

COTABATO CITY  — The Municipality of Datu Odin Sinsuat in Maguindanao del Norte has recently received two newly constructed one-story school buildings, each containing two classrooms.

These buildings were provided by the Bangsamoro Government’s Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MBHTE-BARMM).

According to the MBHTE, each building costs P5,686,460 and is funded through the ministry’s Supplemental Budget, with the support of Member of Parliament Mohagher Iqbal.

Earlier this month, officials from the MBHTE conducted a turnover ceremony for projects designed to provide students with school buildings that are conducive to learning.

The school buildings, each featuring two classrooms, were constructed in Barangay Mompong and Sitio Linab, located in Barangay Bugawas, Datu Odin Sinsuat.

MBHTE Minister and Member of Parliament Iqbal, in an earlier statement, reiterated the strong commitment of the ministry to providing quality education to every Bangsamoro student.

“The Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education remains steadfast in ensuring that no Bangsamoro learner is left behind,” he stated.

MBHTE Head of Construction, Engr. Nurhashim Abdula stated that these projects are part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to address classroom shortages and enhance learning outcomes.

“Marami kasi ang nag-aaral sa mga lumang building at ‘yung iba sa ilalim ng mga puno (Many students are studying inside the old buildings, while others are beneath the trees),” Abdula told the BARMM Information Office (BIO) in an interview.

The ministry likewise highlighted that it is building not only classrooms but also covered courts, provincial education learning centers, public madrasahs, and various other infrastructure facilities throughout the region. (With reports from MBHTE-BARMM)
